The exoplanet once called Eryndor the Crucible by ancient civilizations is a world of plasma auroras, mercury oceans, and floating cities, shaped by Extreme, an almost divine figure who led the first Earth expeditions to colonize it. More than just a colonizer, Extreme is a visionary who has transcended humanity by using the planet's ancient technologies (such as Harmony Nodes and Vitreocrystals) to create hybrids, beings that combine human biology with synthetic precision. His Forgotten Empire is a seeming utopia, but the concerns of hybrids such as Lyra-9 and Kael-13, coupled with the awakening of the Heart of Eryndor, suggest that Extreme's reign may be on shaky ground.

With his mythic arrival, Extreme seems to have unlocked the secrets of the ancient civilizations-the Firstborn, the Keepers of the Veil, and the Wanderers-in order to build his empire. But his connection to the Heart of Eryndor, the ancient force now awakening, remains a mystery. Is he a benevolent god, a cosmic manipulator, or someone who, despite his genius, underestimated the power of the planet he colonized?
